On-line NMR Selected for Basell’s Spherizone License in Korea

HAVERHILL, MA (February 10, 2007)—The first MagModule II™ process NMR system designed for use in Basell’s Spherizone polypropylene technology was shipped from the progression, inc. factory in Massachusetts. progression’s MagModule II NMR technology will be used to provide real-time, on-line analysis of key resin properties such as xylene solubles, ethylene content, melt flow and mechanical properties. The company is the world’s leading supplier of on-line process NMR, and sees this latest generation PP process technology as an exiting opportunity for providing added value for customers. According to the Basell website more than ten production lines with capacity in excess of 3 million tons has been licensed using the Spherizone technology.
