Progression’s technology has been providing real-time, multi-property analysis including mass flow measurement and electrostatic monitors to the polyolefin industry since 1989. This allows for optimization of reactor control and decreased transition times.
Progression’s NMR analysis solutions are available for morphological measurements of thermoplastic materials. Lab and process analysis is done without the use of chemicals or labor intensive manual sample preparation.
Process NMR measurements for polypropylene include xylene solubles, decalin solubles, heptane insolubles, flexural modulus, ethylene content, and melt flow index. Polyethylene measurements include density, crystallinity, and melt index.
Utilizing the Correflow® Mass Flow Monitor (MFM3100®) will allow for the measurement of catalyst feed to both liquid and gas phase reactors. The MFM3100 fluid flow meter quantifies the velocity and concentration of solids in a fluid (gas or liquid) stream yielding true mass flow measurement for effective process control.
The Correflow Electrostatic Monitor (ESM3400™) was introduced to monitor electrostatic activity inside fluidized-bed reactors as well as detect entrained resin in carryover lines. These critical measurements, by an electrostatic probe, yield insight into a previously unknown process parameters, thus enhancing output by avoiding costly reactor shutdowns.
